The big move into halls is right around the corner (Saturday 12th September to Sunday 13th September). There are a few steps you'll need to take beforehand, but on the day itself, you should expect a generous helping of excitement and nerves. No need to worry though, we'll have plenty of people at the ready to help you make the move go as smoothly as possible.
Follow last year's students in the video below, as they make the journey from home to halls and tell us about their moving-in weekend experience:
Please note: Before you can move into your room, you will be required to have signed and accepted your residential licence agreement for the duration of your stay and to have paid your deposit fee of £400. If you have not completed these tasks, please contact Housing Services before trying to collect your keys.
Travel Information & Key Collection
Arriving by car:
During Moving-in Weekend, you will be able to drive onto campus, but we ask that you unload your vehicle within 30 minutes and then move off campus to park.
When your vehicle is on campus, you must display the ticket given to you by the Security Officer at the gate and the car driver must remain with the vehicle at all times. We ask that you unload your vehicle as quickly as possible and then move off campus to park your vehicle.
While vehicles will be permitted onto campus for key collection, no parking ticket will be issued, as you will be expected to exit promptly and park closer to your allocated residence for unloading.

So what's your action plan for the day?
As you can see, there will be a lot going on (and a lot of doors to get through) but help each other out when you can and have a blast meeting all the other new residents! If you're still feeling a bit lost on what to do or what to expect, you can refer to one of our many guides and welcome information to get what you need.
