*** N.B. Do not order any items to be delivered to your hall until you have moved into your room as your details will not be in the locker system, and parcels will be returned to sender ***
What are the lockers for?
To ensure entrances and lobby areas of buildings are kept safe and secure, we have invested in parcel lockers for residents living in the Student Village and Westfield Way area.
We are also including residents of Albert Stern, Ifor Evans, Lindop House and Stocks Court, although we expect you will still receive parcels to your buildings in the majority, as they are on pre-defined courier routes. The lockers, however, will be an option for those couriers who don’t have pre-defined routes to drop parcels off for you.
If you live in Aspire Point, Blithehale Court or Sherren House, queries around post and parcels should be made to the team in your building. Note at Aspire Point, collections of parcels is only available between 5pm and 11pm.
What do I need to do?
Unlike ‘Amazon’ lockers, the lockers we are providing are open to all couriers to use to leave your parcels within.
You will not need to select the lockers when you are ordering items online, as they will not appear as a delivery option, but you do need to ensure that your name (as shown on your halls application), flat, building and room are quoted within the delivery address. If you are unsure of how to address items, follow the information in the Residents’ Handbook.
We will be instructing and working with couriers proactively arriving to the campus to promote the lockers as an easy and time saving way to deliver large numbers of parcels to residents, so they become the preferred option. The system we are using is used by many property providers and will therefore be familiar to the couriers from other locations.
All you need to do is order as normal with your address clearly shown and await an email to your Queen Mary email address from the locker system to say your parcel is available for collection.
How do I use these lockers?
If you are familiar with using lockers for deliveries already, then you will find our own very similar. Once a courier has dropped a parcel off for you, you will receive an email to your Queen Mary email advising you a parcel has been delivered. The email will contain a barcode you can scan, or you can enter the pick-up code shown on the locker keyboard and follow the instructions on the screen. The lockers are located next to the laundry in France House.
You can download our Parcel Locker flyer, this contains information on the locker location and instructions on how to use them.
What if I need help with the lockers?
If your name needs adjusting, or you want to request that parcels are placed in the lower level lockers, please contact Residences Reception. You will be notified to your Queen Mary email if you have an item to collect, with an email from 'Parcel Pending'.
