Applications for the Residential Assistants (RAs) role for the September 2025/26 academic year are now open!

Who are Residential Assistants?

Residential Assistants are student staff members who support the Residential Services Team, particularly the Residential Life Team. They support the service by doing some of the following:

Facilitating Residential Life events for residents of Queen Mary.
Contributing to the Residential Life events programme.
Creating digital content for the Residential Life social media platforms.
Assisting the Residential Operations team with preparing buildings, flats, and rooms for residents during their stay.
Assisting the Residences Reception team with their operations, and so much more...

Who are we looking for?

Students who have an understanding of what Residential Services does and how the Residential Assistants role fits in.
Students who can confidently engage and interact with a range of audiences.
Students who have experience living in student halls and share their experiences with new residents.
Students who can carry out manual tasks such as cleaning and basic portering duties.
Students who can work well in a team and contribute to the team and the programme.

Requirements of the role

Must be registered on a full-time course at Queen Mary University of London for the September 2025/26 academic year.
Attend the in-person mandatory Training week in the first week of September 2025.
Support the Residential Services team with the Move In Weekend (MIW) in September 2025 and January 2026.
Ability to meet the UK 'Right To Work' requirements.
