Residential Welfare Closure period poster

The University Holiday Closure Period will be from Tuesday 24 December 2024, returning on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

We understand not all residents will be returning home and will continue to live in Halls of Residence for some or the full duration of the Holiday Closure Period. We would like you all to be aware of the support and services which will remain available to residents when the University is closed. This includes information on study and stress management, emotional wellbeing and help in a crisis.

We know many of you will continue to work hard preparing for coursework submissions and exams. If you begin to feel overwhelmed and stressed, please make use of the support available. If you need further support in the new semester, please contact the Residential Welfare team at residentialwelfare@qmul.ac.uk. Your email will be picked up upon our return to work in the new year.

Please familiarise yourselves with the information below on support services, points of contact for your hall, and Residential Life events during the winter break.

We wish you all a peaceful and enjoyable holiday.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or needs to access urgent specialist support, please refer to the 'help in a crisis' information and the list of external support organisations.

Find out more information about the Food Cupboard Essentials Giveaway at Residences Reception during the winter break.

If you need to contact Residences Reception, which remains open throughout the winter break 24/7, or Reception in one of our other halls, you can find all the numbers on the 'Contact Us' page.

If you need wellbeing support during the closure, information on who to contact is available in the 'Where can I find support?' article or the Christmas Holiday Support for Students webpage on the Queen Mary website.
