But first, have you figured out what you will need to bring with you? We have a bunch of international student online resources available but here are some essentials you'll NEED to remember:

1. Documentation - a valid passport, the appropriate student visa, your acceptance letter and confirmation of enrolment from your university, financial documents demonstrating your ability to support yourself, health insurance coverage, academic transcripts and certificates, English language proficiency test results, accommodation documents, travel and flight details, and a list of emergency contacts. Now you might not need all of these so be sure to consult the official UK government website and the university's international student office for specific requirements based on your circumstances. 
2. Money - This varies depending on individual circumstances, lifestyle choices, etc but it is advisable to have enough funds to cover expenses such as tuition fees, accommodation, meals, transportation, textbooks, and personal expenses. Additionally, considering the high cost of living in some areas, having a financial buffer for unexpected expenses and emergencies is recommended. 4. Medication (you could get this in the UK too) - don't forget you'll also need to register with the Student Health Service when you get here!
5. Photos from home so you can make your room feel a home away from home.

Most other items can be bought once you arrive, which will save you some luggage space:

Shops like Wilko, ASDA Living, IKEA and Primark all sell affordable homeware items that you can purchase. Don't forget you can buy a lot of items from our online shop.

There are also some things that you CAN'T bring to uni, so make sure you take a look at the list below to check what you'll be allowed: 

• Rice cookers or chip fryers
• Candles, incense sticks, tea lights
• Smoking equipment, such as pipes and ashtrays
• Dartboards or weapons of any kind (real or replicas - don't bring them)
