Car parking during moving in weekend at Mile End

Posted 1 day ago

Everything you need to know

Moving In Weekend is always busy, so we’ve set up a system to help everything run smoothly. You’ll be able to drive onto campus to collect your keys and unload, but there are some rules in place to make sure traffic keeps moving and everyone gets a fair chance to drop off their things.

Please read the guidance below before you arrive.

  • You can drive onto Mile End Campus to unload your belongings
  • Please keep unloading to 30 minutes max
  • The driver must stay with the vehicle at all times
  • You’ll be given a parking ticket at the gate – this must be displayed in your car
  • Once unloaded, you must move your car off campus and park nearby

Key collection

Students moving into Albert Stern House and Cottages, Ifor Evans Place, Lindop House and Stocks Court should collect their keys from the central Mile End key collection points (see attached map).

Vehicles can enter campus briefly for key collection, but no parking ticket will be issued. You’ll need to exit promptly and park near your building before unloading.

Here are all the key collection points.

Where to park nearby (not on red routes):

There’s no designated parking at our accommodation sites, but here are the best nearby roads for each building. Just be sure to avoid red routes, as parking isn’t allowed there.

  • Albert Stern House and Cottages – Bancroft Road, E1 4DH
  • Ifor Evans Place – Alderney Road, E1 4EG
  • Lindop House – Harford Street, E1 4FG
  • Stocks Court – Stayner’s Road, E1 4AH
