Join us to clean up the canal!
Join us for the first Big Green Canal Clean of the academic year ♻!
This hands-on community event invites students and staff to come together to
care for our local canalside environment and protect urban wildlife.
It's time to get outdoorsy and make a difference while having a blast. We're talking litter picking, vegetation management, and we'll clean up the canal too. We're also throwing in free hot chocolate and popcorn for all you awesome volunteers!
So, what's the plan?
You'll be part of tight-knit squads, armed with sweep nets, snatching up litter like a pro, and getting those plants in check along the canal edges.

Dress code?
Keep it chill and easy to move around in, but prepare for any weather. We've got your back with High-Vis jackets, gloves, and all the gear you need to make this cleanup epic.
Rendezvous point?
Meet us in the Students' Union Hub reception area at 1pm, otherwise we'll see you down by ResLife and the Canal, just look for the high-vis!
For the clean up, you will be provided with sweep nets and gloves.
