Make something meaningful
QMSU's Mile End Volunteering Officer, Lily, Women in Law Society, and Sober Socials Society have teamed up to run an exciting volunteering initiative called “Art with a Heart”. Through this initiative, you will be able to create thoughtful and comforting craft items for patients at St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney.
Upcoming Events
1. Creative Volunteering Sessions
Come along and get creative! All materials will be provided—just bring your ideas and enthusiasm.
Dates: Thursday 24 April (1-4pm) & Tuesday 29 April (1-4pm)
Location: QM Social (to the left of the Bancroft Building in Library Square)
2. Packing & Delivery Session
Join us as we package up all the donated creations and personally deliver them to St Joseph’s Hospice. A wonderful way to see the impact of your contributions.
Date: Friday 2 May
Time: 2:15–5:00pm
Location: Blomeley Room 1, on the ground floor of the Students’ Union Hub
Other Ways to Get Involved
Drop-Off Donations: If you’d prefer to create at home, you can drop off your finished crafts or materials at the donation box:
Location: Mile End Students’ Union Hub Reception
Drop-off Dates: Tuesday 22nd April – Friday 2nd May at 2pm ahead of our packing and delivery session
What You Can Make:
Colouring pages
Wordsearches and crosswords
Origami creations
Crochet items (e.g. small hearts, flowers, stuffed toys, etc)
All handmade items will be delivered to the hospice to bring comfort, entertainment, and joy to patients.
