Hands-on herb planting workshop

Take a break from your day and reconnect with nature at this relaxed, hands-on herb planting workshop hosted at the Queen Mary Zero Waste Shop.

Guided by members of the Zero Waste and Grounds teams, you’ll learn how to plant and care for your own herbs, from potting and soil choice to tips for growing at home.

This drop-in style session offers a calm, welcoming space to slow down, get your hands dirty, and learn practical skills that support sustainable living. Whether you’re new to gardening or simply looking for a mindful moment during Climate Action Week, this workshop invites you to step away from screens, enjoy some green time, and leave with something you’ve grown yourself.

Participants will gain practical knowledge about growing herbs at home, alongside a sense of wellbeing and connection to nature. You’ll leave with your own potted herbs to take away and use in cooking, plus simple tips for nurturing plants and building more sustainable everyday habits.
