Changes to access via Westfield Way from Monday 13 November 2023
As work continues on the demolition of Hatton House to allow for the building of the new School of Business Management at the Mile End campus, residents, staff and visitors will have seen work progressing to clear the site by the canal.
How does this affect me?
The existing pedestrian entrance to campus on Westfield Way has now partially closed on the Hatton House side of Westfield Way and a new route into campus between ArtsOne and Laws from Mile End Road – the ArtsOne Passageway – opened on Monday 13 November 2023 and is available between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Works on the former Hatton House site will take place between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday - if you are a resident in halls and have a concern, please contact Residences Reception, visitors or staff members should contact the Capital Projects Office.
Residents living on campus, requiring access after 8pm or at weekends, should continue to use the access via the ArtsOne side of Westfield Way.
How do I know where to go?
Below is a map showing the new access route via the ArtsOne Passageway and routes beyond this down past Joseph Priestley to access the Curve and halls, alongwith the route via the ArtsOne side of Westfield Way. Most of the area around Westfield Way, Hatton House and ArtsOne is now a construction area with no access for pedestrians to mantain safety, aside from the routes marked below.
It is expected that Westfield Way will fully close to pedestrians from late March 2024 - although the exact time frame will be confirmed nearer the time and the ArtsOne Passageway will then be the main access point for pedestrians at the eastern side of the campus.
Where can I find out more about this project?
